Balmoral Winter Running Weekend: 13th-15th November 2015
After amazingly successful weekends in 2012, 2013 and 2014 I am delighted to be putting on my running weekend again in 2015, based at the spectacular Balmoral Estate. With these surroundings you can’t help but be inspired. Daily guided runs through the beautiful and challenging Highland scenery, core strength sessions, technique work and strength and conditioning will ensure you are running strong for the rest of the winter.
You’ll have the unique opportunity to stay in the comfortable and modern staff accommodation next to Balmoral Castle. All rooms are single and have wash/basin, TV/DVD and tea/coffee making equipment. Bath, shower and toilet facilities are shared but there are plenty of them.
The Balmoral Winter Camp is suitable for all levels of runner, whatever your pace we can accommodate you. There will be 3 or 4 difference paced groups for each run, with the faster groups going further. All we ask is that you can cover 10km. Importantly too, whilst this camp is all about challenging and improving yourself we also understand that you may not want to (or be able to) run every day in which case we can provide you with maps and you are welcome to take yourself for a walk/hike around the estate. Groups will be led by qualified local guides and the overall programme of running will be overseen by myself.
Nutrition is extremely important for runners, so we have hired in an amazing cook who will provide all the food during the weekend. All meals are included in the cost as well as mid-morning and afternoon snacks, and tea and coffee are permanently on the go. The food at Balmoral is a real highlight, freshly prepared, healthy and hearty and the post-run flapjacks are to die for!
Cost of the weekend is £375 pp (excluding flights) but everything else is included.
- 2 nights accommodation in single rooms at Balmoral
- All meals from lunch on Friday to lunch before we leave on Sunday, including tea/coffee and snacks. (Wine is available to purchase with the evening meal).
- Return coach transfers from/to Aberdeen Airport
- 3 guided runs with qualified guide (one each day Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
