I am excited to be able to take ‘Run with Karen’ to the Pyrenees and invite you to join me on my first trail running weekend in France. We’ll be staying at the wonderful facilities provided by Pyrenees Multisport, a lovingly converted farmhouse in the picturesque hamlet of Luscan in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Accommodation is on a twin share, en-suite basis with a delicious breakfast and home cooked evening meal (with wine) each day. Our hosts are Ian and Julie who will ensure your weekend runs (no pun intended) smoothly with transfers from Toulouse airport (flights not included in the price) which is well served by many airlines including BA and Easyjet. (Train travel is also an option if you have more time to enjoy the journey.)
Your 3-night break will include a short run on Friday once we arrive; a chance to stretch your legs after the journey. After a relatively early start on Saturday we’ll head into Toulouse to enjoy one of the few French parkruns (don’t forget your barcode!) and to make it an authentic experience we’ll make sure there is time for a coffee and croissant before heading back to Luscan. There will be an optional guided run on Saturday afternoon, or you may prefer to put your feet up or go for a walk. Sunday will be our long run day and we’ll head off to explore a longer trail, weather permitting we should be able to get up into the mountains.
No previous trail running experience is required, advice and coaching will be provided by myself and instructions on the kit you will need will be sent in advance of the trip. I do ask that you have a minimum level of running fitness and can run 10km in 70 mins (on the road) and are used to running distances in the region of 10 miles. The plan will be to go up into the mountains as much as possible but contingency routes will be available if there are adverse weather conditions (snow), but if the past is anything to go by, spring arrives early in this part of the world and temperatures can be quite pleasant.
Price is £395 per person on a twin share basis. To reserve your place or to ask any questions, please get in touch via the contact form.
